USU Green Campus

USU has three campus areas:
  1. Universitas Sumatera Utara Padang Bulan Campus
  2. Universitas Sumatera Utara Kwala bekala Campus
  3. Universitas Sumatera Utara Kebun Percobaan Tambunan A
USU Hospital Lobby is designed with a hot attic chimney system to allow natural air circulation from the ground floor to the roof. Make the lobby cool and comfortable without using electric air conditioners.

Most of the organic waste is generated from canteens, or kitchen waste from employees' homes in the campus complex. Other sources of organic waste are dry leaves, grass, and wood from the garden. At the USU landfill, there are 4 composting containers.

USU has implemented the use of ponds / reservoirs to save water on campus. The location of the reservoir on the Main Campus is next to the USU central library, in front of the main building of the Faculty of Agriculture, around the Civil Engineering Department Building, Tambunan A Campus and Kuala Bekala Campus. USU has also implemented biopore holes and infiltration wells on the Padang Bulan campus.

USU bicycles can be used by the academic community for free, every Monday-Friday by showing a USU ID card.

USU has 15 undergraduate faculties and 145 study programs. Each faculty has a different number of study programs, ranging from 1 to 25, and a different number of courses, ranging from 119 to 2822 courses per faculty.
